Reports are coming in that the latest version of the firmware is causing problems with the MS Zunes. Apparently, the Zunes have the tendency to rapidly their battries, even when the player is not being used. Words are that the problem stems from the fact that the Zunes can’t properly enter hibernating mode. The unofficial “fix” at this time is to simply power off the Zunes completely by holding back and down on the D-pad. Another problem that had arised is an issue related to DRM that is preventing users from downloading songs from Zune marketplace, even though it has no problem taking your MS points. I’ve been considering getting a Zune this holiday season, but now I think I’ll wait until MS had worked out all these kinks. So, any Zune user out there suffering from some similar (or different) problems?
